Logo Design Brief

Hampton Roads Mechanical is a full service mechanical contractor for military installations, federal facilities, state facilities, and private corporations.
We are one of the top commercial and industrial mechanical contractors in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia which includes the cities of Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth. We are looking for a new and updated logo design. We are in the center of the most militarily diverse area of the country, with Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard bases interspersed throughout the region. We consider all projects a partnership with the owner or general contractor. We specialize in mechanical areas such as piping, plumbing, steam distribution, heating, cooling, HVAC, chillers, boilers, ventilation, and duct installation.

Target Market(s)

We are looking to create a professional image to appeal to craftsmen (plumbers and pipefitters) who work in the field currently or others who are thinking about making a career change into the trade. Many former military personnel retire in the Hampton Roads area and begin their second careers here. We would like to create a brand to attract these individuals to potential employment and long term rewarding careers with us.

Requirements

Must have

• We would like to keep some semblance of the current logo in tacked, but we are flexible. We will be incorporating this new logo on to a couple of newly wrapped service vans to help advertise the brand and company to other professionals.

Nice to have

• We would like to have a new...subtle picture design to go along with our letters. Something indicating hot and cold or water flowing through pipes or a play on a traditional mechanical blueprint symbol. Would like to see some small "shout out" or tribute to the military...perhaps a blue camouflage back round?

Should not have

• Should not be too loud or radically different.
