Poster Design Brief
Gifting Life, an Australian based production company, has a cinema documentary film project in production titled ‘DYING TO LIVE’.
This film is a 90-minute journey delving into the powerfully complex and emotionally charged world of organ transplantation. Through the touching stories of those awaiting life-saving transplants and others campaigning for historic change - this film explores what it really means for a country of the willing to become a country of the ready as physical philanthropists - and set the stage for global change in how we think about death and dying.

Nice to have
- This film presents a number of highly universal themes covering death and dying, physical philanthropy and kindness, the crucial ‘waiting game’ experienced by those in need until suitably matched organs are found, and elements of time.
- A number of important philosophical questions are also raised surrounding the social contract, public policy options and the need for an open dialogue about organ donation within families and communities.
- In reflecting this, we are looking for submissions that are ‘high concept’ in nature - possibly involving some degree of abstraction, an original piece of art with interesting style, or the use of existing concepts (ie, we have attached a conceptual mockup of an hour glass showing organs passing from one side to another, creative use of angel’s wings, a piece of work in the shape of a puzzle piece - it's just a creative mockup but we love this concept if you would like to build your own creative version of this from scratch - but feel absolutely free to come up with something else) Be creative, play with colour (we don’t want to be too clinical in tone) and have fun!
Should not have
- Do not submit any work which contains elements of third party copyright. All submissions must be your own work in entirety.
- - Do not use stock images, clip art, licensed or branded material.
- - Avoid using photography in your designs - we are after something ‘high concept’ with a bit of imagination, creativity and interesting use of different styles of art.
