Poster Design Brief
I need artwork designed for an upcoming stage play titled, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The artwork will be used on posters, flyers, social media and various promotional packages.
Play synopsis: In the play, Vanya and Sonia, named after Anton Chekhov’s characters, live in the family home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The third sibling, Masha, is a successful actress and supports her brother and sister. When Masha returns home with her much younger lover, Spike, she brings with her a whirlwind of activity and throws the household into chaos. She’s returned home supposedly to attend a costume party at a neighbor’s home and wants her family and friends to dress up as characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Her other plan is to sell the family home, a move that devastates Vanya and Sonia.

Reason: Only two designs were submitted and neither design followed the format that I requested.
I attached a similar artwork design to my project for inspiration. I would use it, but it is copyrighted and not available for use. It is has a fun, 3-dimensional, caricaturist look. That is what I am expecting a designer to provide; a new design, but with the same qualities and feeling.

- A whimsical art piece that captures the essence of the comedy is the goal.
Nice to have
- I have attached a copy of an art piece that was used by a different theatre company. It is exclusive to that company, so I do not want to replicate it, but I would like something similar with the same kind of whimsical feeling.
- The characters should be shown in their "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" costumes. Masha is wearing Snow White, Sonia is the Evil Queen, Vanya is Doc and Spike, as usual, is in his underwear.
Should not have
- The artwork does not need any text. I only need the art piece / graphic, so it can be placed onto different promotion materials.
