Logo Design Brief

I need a logo design for a start-up insulation construction business named 'Rauch Insulation' based in Moscow, Idaho. We specialize in new and retro-fit residential insulation with an emphasis on quality. The basic premise of insulation is to make you comfortable at home. cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Design concepts should reflect this - but let’s go easy with blue and red motif. I’m well aware of the association of blue and red with warm and cold - I'm not a big fan of the color red, limited use of red is acceptable. no orange in place of red. Blue and orange are rival football colors out here. Lastly, we are very proud of our work and the community we serve. I enjoy minimalism in design, simple shapes, easy to understand concepts, the contrast between bold and fine. something that would look good on the side of a box-truck or on a business card.

'Rauch Insulation' 'Rauch' or simply 'R I' are all acceptable… You can add ‘Moscow, ID’ if you choose. The name 'Rauch' is important branding. I come from a prominent family in this area and name recognition is important in this word-of-mouth market. My father has been a builder in this county for 40 years, there is an association with the name 'Rauch' with integrity, quality, and community.

Requirements

Must have

• The name 'Rauch' is an important part of my brand. I like contrast - hot/cold, light/dark, bold/fine. Less is more - Simple and classic are good. contempary is good too.. Nothing too new school, flashy or loud. Something I can use for the life of this business... we're not striving for the Hammer pants of logos, folks.

Nice to have

• I like geometric shapes i.e. 3-D cubes. Little squares or dots that make an image or letters. Letters that shape an image. The contrast between light/dark, bold/fine. It could have these elements, or not... Trust your gut as a designer - you could incorporate all this and I may not like it, or none of it and I could love it. At the end of the day it will look good to me or it won’t - I don’t feel constricted by any preconceived ideas on my end. Go for it...

Should not have

• Stay away from designs too similar to my chief competitor (Mosocow Building Supply). No blue/ orange color combos.
