Logo Design Brief

We are a store of office, painting, handcraft and decorative arts products,  located in a street near two schools with around 1000 students from pre-school to college finalists. Our customers will be mainly people with medium/high or high income, so we intend to differentiate from our competition mainly trough the product range and a strong professional commercial approach. Price will be competitive but will not be an obsession of our marketing mix mainly because some of the brands we will sell are premium ones (e.g. Caran d´Ache, swiss made colour pencils). Neverthless we don´t want to be trapped in a office supplies boutique image, that could make a dangerous narrowing of our customer base.

The idea will be to attract simultaneously the students and their parents creating reasons for a good shopping experience and new visits. Some new technologies will be added with this objective like, bluetooth and interactive shop window.

Product range will include painting (oil, acrilic, watercolour, accessories, canvas, easel, etc.), handcraft and manual arts products, writing products (current and prestige), school fashion, office and school products, gift and wrapping products. 

Communication will be always supported with lifestyle images with the products in action used by people, reinforcing the link with the positive side of life (see append with some images, as example). Those activities as a way to create positive interaction between diffrente generations inside family will be a must (e.g., mother or father vs son or daughter).

Logo must be able to be used in every environment from stationery to flyers, posters, web and other media. Must be easily scaled up and down and must be easily read in both color and B&,W modes.

The colours must be carefully managed in order to avoid lack of connection to company mission, vision and values.

Image must be clean, fresh and sophisticated (but not too much)
