Logo Design Brief
The Citadel Law Firm is a law practice focusing on estate planning (wills, trusts, probate, and taxes). The managing attorney has a banking/finance background and also advises clients on investments, life insurance, and financial planning. The goal of the firm is to secure the money and property of clients to (i) provide for a financially secure retirement, (ii) reduce death and gift taxes, and (iii) pass on money, property, and businesses to the next generation in an efficient manner.
DEFINITION OF "CITADEL": A citadel is the core fortified area of a town or city. It may be a fortress, castle, or fortified center. The term is a diminutive of "city" and thus means "little city", so called because it is a smaller part of the city of which it is the defensive core. In a fortification with bastions, the citadel is the strongest part of the system, sometimes well inside the outer walls and bastions, but often forming part of the outer wall for the sake of economy. It is positioned to be the last line of defense, should the enemy breach the other components of the fortification system.
Several law firms work in this space so I would like to use the name and logo to highlight what we do, as opposed to most law firms that are named after their principals' last name (e.g. Jones & Skeller, PLC). Naming the business "Citadel Law Firm" is intended to evoke a sense of security and highlight the focus of the law firm to securing the future of oneself, property, money, business, and family. I would like the logo to capture this as well.
NOTE - When designing the logo, I would like to incorporate a very rich "blue" color, but even richer than the color selected in this DesignCrowd project brief (which appears rather a dull blue to me). I used blue before in a previous business logo and liked it very much. However, when I printed physical business cards using the logo, some of a shaded blue portion logo came out a shade of pink/purple instead of blue on printed business cards. When we sent this back for review, the printer advised, "The CMYK value that was designed in that original file (background/logo color) is C: 100% M: 99.77$ Y: 23.15% K: 17.25%. Blue is very close to purple in the CMYK spectrum, so it's best to leave at least 30% difference between the (C) Cyan and (M) Magenta values. You want to use a low amount of magenta whenever using a high amount of cyan to avoid a purple output." Please ensure the blue color chosen for the Citadel logo is not at risk of printing purple when used in physical formats.
Please feel free to EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVITY. I am a spreadsheet and numbers guy. I am in no way an artist. Please show off your creativity. I would like your logo designs to reflect what you feel when you read what I'm trying to market in the business.
Thank you so much for considering designing this project. I am very grateful to you.

Please submit only ONE (1) logo per designer. If the submission moves me, then we can work to refine it together. Receiving multiple submissions from the same designer, which are only variations on a similar theme that would not work, is not a good use of resources for me. Thank you.
