Logo Design Brief
We are a tutoring startup aimed at college students and Greek fraternities/sororities in the Southeast USA. We have been in business for three years under multiple names.
We recently rebranded to CollegiateTutoring.com (first ran it with customer starting Fall 2017). It was a success, with 160 users creating accounts and using our service.
Currently, all of our customers are away from classes on winter break, so while they are out we have been making MAJOR improvements to our website. We are excited to reveal these improvements to our old customer and new customers for the Spring semester (starting January 22nd).
To really impress our customers, we want to also come into the Spring semester with a modernized/upgraded version of our current logo. The goal is to show them that, yes, we are still the same company, but we're are constantly improving, growing and getting better at what we do.
I've provided examples of our current logo. This logo aims to really capture the feeling of being in college pursuing academia. To me, the columns display personal achievement and empowerment. The building columns do a good job of that (most college campuses have buildings with large columns). Also.. it's important to note that a large customer segment of ours are Greek fraternities and sororities. Our logo attracts them as well, because Greek frat houses and sorority houses tend to have large columns, too. I've attached some pictures of campus buildings and Greek houses with columns for your reference.
I'd appreciate designers trying out multiple color variations too. I like the current red, white, and blue. It's very patriotic and resonates with our market. But, it could be interesting to see how the logo could stand out with more metallic/silver colors. Or potentially a light blue in there. Generally, I prefer reds, blues, silver, grey, and white.
We appreciate logos with elements of Material Design, as they fit well on mobile screens and seem to the be the current trend in most websites.
In summary, help us WOW our returning with a MODERN, SLEEK, INNOVATIVE, EMPOWERING, ATTRACTIVE upgrade to our current logo!
Thanks kindly for your time and interest,
