Logo Design Brief

I'm the director of a financial planning firm. We hired someone a number of years ago to design a logo and create some artwork for our website. We cannot locate the hi-res files and need these recreated and/or updated to provide a bit of a fresher look.

We are happy with the general look and feel of the existing artwork, but would appreciate any ideas that may help it look a bit more contemporary. We need some files that we can use on our website as background and header images, and would like some larger resolution files than the ones attached in order to generate printed letterheads and other artwork.

I think our business cards look a bit dull and would like to have more colour and impact on these.
