Logo Design Brief

The Firekracker 5K (http://firekracker5k.com/) is a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) running race hosted annually by the Fort Collins Running Club in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is hosted on U.S. Independence Day (July 4). The race description reads, "Start your Fourth of July festivities on a scenic, flat and fast course in City Park. All ages and abilities are welcome; you can walk, jog, run or race. Just be sure to include a healthy start to your holiday celebration!"

We are looking for a typography logo for the race name. We may associate it with an image or a mascot (and you can include that in your design) but the words should be able to stand alone as unique and thematic.

Due to the nature of the event, U.S. patriotic themes and colors are appropriate (fireworks, flags, etc), but are not required. The family event also focuses on running, health and community.

Solid colors and a design that will look okay in duotone will have preference over photo-realistic designs. Below are images that we have used on shirts in the past, although they are NOT necessarily good guide-stones for what we're looking for. Note the spelling is Firekracker (not firecracker).
