Podcast Design Brief
I need a logo for a new podcast/website that will be used for branding a new venture.
It is important that the designer read this entire brief and take the time to understand what I am looking for. Don't just rush in and give me the first thing that pops up in your head. Rather, give really try to understand how the graphic icon can be used beyond just a business card.
The podcast is called Charleston BizBuzz. The focus is on telling the behind the scenes stories and trends of what's going on in the business community in Charleston. The podcast will be distributed via all the major podcast distribution sites (iTunes, etc) and will have it's own app.
It is important that the logo and branding be done right as the intention is to roll out this podcast/website to other major cities once the initial business model has been refined and is working. So the logo needs to be built in such a way as the name of the city changes, but the remainder of the logo and icon would stay the same (example NewYorkBizBuzz ….).
The logo and it's icon and concept will be used for favicons on all social media sites, app favicon etc. So - it needs to be able to work or be modified to work in a square formatted environment.
I will need a slew of design work - including website design. The key though is a great Logo.
I am open to having the words BizBuzz as one or separate as Biz Buzz
I would like some of the design options to use a BumbleBee (yellow/Black) as an option - using the concept that a bee represents something that Buzzes. Also a play on words of the phrase "Busy as a Bee". Having a design that might incorporate a bee could utilize a dotted line, a bee hive, honeycomb. Or it could be an icon that indicates a lot of activity (buzz) or an icon that indicates the latest and most interesting news (what's the buzz ).
The designer that I pick will be one that can show some creativity, imagination and the ability to think of how the design elements can be expanded beyond the logo.
This is first and foremost a site to attract professionals who need to and want to get information relating to business (in charleston and eventually other cities).
(Biz is short for Business)

Requirements
Must have
- The logo must have an icon that is brandable and recognizable. The colors must be able to show up when printed on a B/W printer.
The logo must be able to work or be formatted to work in a square format to be used as favicons.
Must have a font that I can download easily and that is web and mobile friendly. Must be modern, able to be used in Bold, Italic
I am suggesting Yellow and Black colors ONLY if the use of a bumblebee is used as an Icon.
Nice to have
- * The icon and the typography should to work independent of each other
* I am open to lots of possible icons - However the use of a Bumblebee with some connection to 'Business' could be a good.
* Define 3 colors for branding purposes (Yellow and Black if you use a bumblebee as an icon)
Should not have
- Do not use old style fonts. The font has to be modern.
