Logo Design Brief

I have a company of 40+ years that the old owner never really wanted to spend the $$ on for a actual logo we've just used our name but now I'd like a logo built for it. I'm really needing something that I can use for shirts and hats along with business cards. We sell everything from chainsaws to the fire dept. and tractors to the local farmers. I sell landscape equipment directly to home owners that are just doing basic yard work all the way to the companies that trim the trees all around our city.
