Logo Design Brief

Looking for a simple, stream-lined logo for a band/production company. The music is experimental jazz fusion-rock/electronica so it should be a little 'dark' and modern (not emo or Affliction-like) but something that's not to graphic-heavy that can be easily read and printed on clothing, hats, CD albums, etc. Play on the 'darkness' or 'midnight' or 'moons' is cool, but not a must.
