Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for OPEIU Local 2. OPEIU stands for "Office and Professional Employees International Union." We are a union representing approx 8,000 office professionals and clerical workers (at non-profits, for-profits, other unions), security guards, pharmacists, CNAs, etc. Local 2 is specifically in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area.
We would like to see designs that use the colors blue and gold, or blue and yellow. The design should communicate power and strength in numbers.
