Logo Design Brief
Man Weekend (www.manweekend.org) is an Texas based semi-annual event created for close friends to reconnect, catch up and keep in touch in person. The world is a busy place and too often email, text messages and the cell phone have replaced face to face human interaction amongst lifelong friends. The organization is gender exclusive and gatherings are strictly limited to men. No children, spouse, partner or any other "legally obligated person" related to participants of any kind are allowed to participate for the simple reason that the weekend is for guys to spend time together, consume libations, interact and behave (or rather misbehave) - without any concern of offending loved ones.
Fishing, firearms, brisket (BBQ), cigars, poker and alcohol are all present at event gatherings. Gatherings are always based in Texas. State pride is also very much present at events. The event has formerly been referred to as an "ATF" Party - for Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. While alcohol is consumed, no illegal substances are ever allowed.
The organization is in the process of becoming a 501C non profit so that gatherings can do some good of the community and raise money for a yet to be determined charity.
What we need is a logo. It needs to be simple and easy to read, instantly identifiable. One sure use of the logo is going to be on a standard size flag to be flown at all sanctioned events as well as t-shirts and koozies. The initial thought was it should simply be a pirate flag. Members ultimately felt a simple pirate flag, while very iconic, was too broad and wanted something more specific. The symbolism and colors of the pirate flag would be a great place to start from our perspective. The imagery of the pirate flag is often used very harshly - which is not what we want for the feeling of the logo or the organization. Skull and bones, if used in the design, should lean towards a more abstract and animated style.
The primary use of this logo will be on a flag. While we have made reference to a pirate flag, please do not limit concepts strictly to that theme. We want your creative interpretation and look forward to potential concepts outside of our suggested imagery. Perhaps another suggestion in terms of style would be to treat the logo as something that might appear on a battle flag. Please do not feel obligated to include all mentioned elements. Use as many or few or even none whatever your good design instinct dictates - overall impression is more important than anything. We'd like folks to err on the side of simple and clean rather than than busy. Color should be very simple, easy to reproduce and usable as black and white if necessary.

Requirements
Nice to have
- It would be nice if the term "pendejos magnificos" could be integrated almost like a banner within the logo - think "e pluribus unum" on U.S. currency coinage.
Should not have
- Nothing overtly offensive or blatantly sexist. No excessively complex or difficult to reproduce fonts. No drug reference.
