Logo Design Brief

We need a logo (re)design for an electric motor company based in Hartford, CT called "Reliable Electric Motor". We sell, rewind and rebuild electric motors, pumps and generators. Company is third generation family owned and services the greater Hartford area.

We have aggressive growth plans to broaden our geographic reach and to increase our sophistication in areas such as marine, medical and aerospace motors, pumps and generators (also known as electromagnetic equipment).

We would like to get a graphic treatment using the REM letters as well as having the company's full name represented (but minimized). We would be open to logo including a graphic treatment of a motor, but are not necessarily committed to that.

Our last three hires have been veterans, and we plan on hiring more, so we would like to see designs that use red white and blue.

We have a wide ranging target audience, from industrial, commercial , and municipal clients as well as individuals. Our audience is almost entirely male.

The final design should communicate boldness and simple sophistication, but should not alienate a mass audience.
