We need a new logo for our research group called "Centre for Rhizobium Studies" based at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. We are microbiologists who study the symbiosis between soil bacteria (called rhizobia) and a specific group of plants called legumes. These rhizobia become symbionts of the host plant. The symbiosis produces a natural nitrogen fertiliser for plants without the need for using chemical fertilisers. Our aim is to support the development of sustainable agriculture in Australia and around the world by studying the interaction between rhizobia and their legume hosts at the molecular level through to field applications. Our current logo(attached for your information) is more than 20 years old. Although it has served us well for branding, its focus on a single cell and the DNA double helix reflects 1990s science and we want to bring our image into the 21st century. So, the final design should communicate, host (plant)-microbe interactions, cutting-edge science and the group name.

Requirements
Must have
- Host (plant)-microbe interactions, cutting-edge science and the group name.
Nice to have
- Perhaps consider including some microbiology equipment like conical flasks or microscope.
- Some elements of the old logo would be good to include in the new one, but not too many as we are looking to update our image to be in-line with our science
Should not have
- Logos that only feature our name or initials. We want the logo to show-case our science
