Business Card Design Brief
I am about to commence work as a barrister in Australia and I need a design for my business cards and letterhead. I am also open to having a logo, although that is not normally the done thing for barristers.
As I am a barrister, the design needs to be relatively clean, formal, and conservative, but I would like it to stand out from other barristers in order to be appealing. It should look very professional and upmarket, but I'm looking for something classic and understated. I don't want it to look like a corporate law firm or anything like that.
I am not committed to a colour scheme, but generally barristers use more conservative colours, such as browns and greys. I am open to a little gold/silver, and maybe some deep red, blue, or purple. The background should be plain--white, cream, or "parchment".
The letterhead will be used for formal letters and legal advices, and potentially also on invoices.

Requirements
Nice to have
- The only images I can think of that could be used are things like the scales of justice/lady justice, or maybe a wax seal or a sealed court document or crest. I am not tied to the idea of using images - it may be better not to.
Should not have
- Do not use a gavel--that is an American tradition which is not really found in Australia.
