Book Cover Design Brief
Bold eye-catching design for business non-fiction: I am seeking a bold, and clean design for a book. The book will be 6X9 for both the ebook and in print. I am open to ideas, but found that books like “good to great” with contrast are highly desirable for business books.
I am open to color choices.
I would also like a growth orientated graphic in the book - something to show growth, leadership, movement. Not just a plain graphic.
The title:
Leading a Sales Transformation
The subtitle - I am open to suggestions. Two subtitles I am considering:
A framework for new sales leaders and those who want to keep winning.
A guide for new sales leaders and those who want to keep winning.
The below is an introduction of the book: (Back Jacket)
Sales transformation is a topic that is infrequently written about. For the new sales leader, there are a myriad of books written on coaching, leadership, forecasting, solution selling and sales process but very little is written about how to assess a sales team and build a plan for long-term success.
Through my sales leadership career, whether recently promoted or starting with a new team, I have often asked the question: Where do I start?
In the end, I was disappointed with the answers from currently available books and research, left to figure it out myself - which I did over a decade, with great pain and through many transformations. The inability to answer the question – Where do I start? – is why I wrote this book. To answer that question.
The goal of this book is to help sales leaders answer that question by providing a framework to understand the business, build a plan, and guide the team through the different stages of a sales transformation. A framework to succeed at the fastest pace possible, quarter after quarter.
(End back jacket - the rest is just additional context)
Over the last decade, I have had the privilege of leading teams in North America, Europe, and Asia. I have led turnarounds, growth businesses, and realignments. Each team was different in size, complexity, and culture; and each one offered up new and unique challenges. Each team operated with different market dynamics: one was a commodity; one was a low-cost leader; one was a market innovator. Each transformation helped me learn by taking risks, by failing and by succeeding. At each step, I had many teachers; and as I learned, I made notes. Over time I built a framework that you can leverage as you read and absorb this book. As you lead your team through a sales transformation.
I hope that this book will become for you what The First 90 Days is for me: a favorite on your bookshelf; underlined, highlighted, dog-eared, and an ongoing reference.
Sales leadership is a journey. It is never linear, and it is always changing. At different times, different parts of this book will apply, while others will not, but hopefully, you will find it a useful and long-lasting reference.
