Stage Equipment and Lighting has been a staple in the professional lighting consulting, rental and supply industry for over 50 years. SEAL rents and sells professional lighting equipment for a variety of customers, from individual local DJs, to houses of worship and big stadiums, and of course, theaters and other entertainment venues, including theme parks.
The current logo is very old. It is meant to represent the shape casted by a gobo. But unless you know the backstory, you can't really get that. We are hoping the new logo will still attempt to symbolize or make reference to a gobo, but it is NOT a must. We want you to have creative liberty to explore other avenues.
The company has moved from a local operation in South Florida (hence the palm trees in the existing logo) to an national and international operation. We therefore see as misleading and diminishing to have palm trees in the logo anymore. Here's a link to the website, where you will see the logo: http://www.seal-fla.com/
The color yellow is a big part of their identity (one of the Illustrator files attached will give you the exact colors). The yellow color is so significant that for a long time and still today, they're the only lighting supplier that still uses iconic yellow crates to transport the lighting equipment.
We want to modernize and globalize the logo. We also want to explore colors beyond yellow and black. We also want to see several variations i.e. stacked, black and white, white, etc.
It is important to keep in mind that the logo and its variations may have more than the usual applications. This logo may end up on vehicles, and more importantly, on equipment crates. Keep that in mind.
