Logo Design Brief
I'm starting a new landscape/fine art photography website called SNAPGRAVY.
It will be a landscape/fine art photography website and it will be laid back and more informal (different from the traditional/stiff/classic photography websites you see all over the place).
I would like the logo to integrate a few elements: the photography dude, landscape, freedom, and lifestyle.
The attached design is exactly what we are looking for including colors, style, font, etc.. It's perfect (if it weren't already taken!).
So, my challenge to you is, use this as inspiration and create something even better!

QUICK UPDATE:

Please also provide an alternate greyscale color scheme with your submissions similar to the one provided in our design brief example (see upper right-hand corner of sample graphic provided). This alternate color scheme which also has a transparency applied, will be used in watermarks, etc.. Thanks.

You may also notice that I'm eliminating most of the designs that have been submitted up to this point. Please note that I'm doing this if I feel the submitted design is too far off from the design brief and to help keep the project board clean as potential design winners are submitted for review. If I feel that you're on the right track, I won't eliminate them, rather I will provide constructive feedback on what "tweaks" need to be made to bring it home. Even in the case of eliminations, I will also do my best to provide as much detailed, constructive feedback as possible. Thanks.

As I'm seeing more designs come through, many of them seem very "clipart'ish". We are not looking for a clipart elements composited together to form a logo concept. We are looking for a strong, professional, unique abstract illustration that meets the needs of our design brief. This is the primary reason we continue to reject submissions up to this point. Thanks for your understanding.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We still have not been able to find a design/concept that fits our needs per the design brief we compiled. Not many questions are coming through either requesting clarification, etc., so we decided to extend the deadline to allow more time for you to create your masterpiece. Thanks.

We'd like to use the "HOBO" font type for the SNAPGRAVY name. Thanks.

Here's a like to the font type effect we're looking for as well. Note the HOBO font face and top border which also acts as the grassy ground for the photographer dude:

I'm also open to ALL IDEAS you may have which may be entirely different than my original Design Brief that will ultimately result in a kick ass logo for our business. Thanks.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We believe that we've found a winning design or two ... finally! I'm extending the deadline by a couple of days to provide the latest potential winners and I a little more time to flush out any last minute design changes/modifications prior to award. Thanks!

Requirements
Must have
- Include the "photography dude" somehow in the logo. Some "dude" with a camera, interacting or not with the logo itself. After all, that's the name of the project.
Include a landscape element (eg, mountain, palm tree, sun, sea, beach, etc), after all it's a landscape photography project.
Laid back and "fun", meaning, not TOO serious as typical classy (boring) photography logos.
Nice to have
- Have a clean look but still be creative and bold.
Should not have
- Should not be flat or too simple. Looking for something creative, bold and inspiring.
