We need am 11" x 17" poster designed for a health outreach project designed to reach older U.S. American Indians. The materials developed through this project will be distributed to American Indian and Alaska Native tribes, communities and tribal-serving organizations across the U.S. (more than 500 different tribes). If we find a successful design we will work with that designer to produce at least one other item we need design work for using the same look/feel and maybe other materials for this project. (more work!). The poster will include a set of facts (bulleted list on the attached document) that we would like presented in an "infographic" style. The design must be reflective of the American Indian culture and designed with older adults (65 and older) in mind. Imagery plays a strong role in the American Indian culture in the U.S. images of the heart, water, feathers, circle of life, etc. If you use photos of people they must include older adults and they must be American Indian (Native American). We prefer deep earth tones for the color scheme. The design must take into account design principles for older adults: 1. Try not to put colored font on colored background 2. Ensure high contrast for text 3. Font style should be sans serif, not cursive, decorative or heavily stylized because it is harder to read 4. Avoid using all caps 5. Don't print sideways or on top of images, shaded, backgrounds, etc. 6. All images should related specifically to the content of the text and be culturally appropriate for both older adults and American Indians. The final design should be easy to read and appeal to older American Indian adults. We need to incorporate three logos on the poster towards the bottom they should not be the center/focus of the poster. We also need to include a statement about who produced the materials- that can be very small below the logos at the bottom of the poster. We've attached the text for the poster and three logo files (note one is solid blue- we will finalize that after the document design is selected but need a placeholder for that logo.
