Logo Design Brief

We need a refreshed logo design for our crowdfunding platform for local projects: Spacehive.com. We don't like the fading on the current logo because it doesn't work well on many backgrounds - for example it looks bad on colour backgrounds or if you overlay it on photos. The new design should feel like an "evolution" of the current logo rather than something completely different. We would be interested to see a logo that has a variety of formats so that - for example - it can be used as an overlay to a photo or on dark and light backgrounds. The final design should be optimistic, playful, fresh, summery, trustworthy, welcoming. We would like to retain a reference to the existing mustard yellow. As well as a main logo for "Spacehive" we would like a badge which we can use on the website or documents which just features the letter "S" in our brand style.
