I have accepted the design task, but would like some clarification. I take it that this is a board game, and like you said "Monopoly-ish".

Are the illustrations supposed to be of a "parent teaching the child" something at home in the squares?

Will the illustrations be used on cards or strictly on a board?....laid out like Monopoly, where instead of buying hotels, they buy History, Science...etc?

Perhaps if you had written some...."I envision....this" or supply a rough drawing of what you see it being, it would help. How many squares, how many illustrations....?

I hope this will help get you what you want.....thanks Katherine

Hi Katherine, I'm having to duck out right now for several hours. Will get back further later. Just for now though I was thionking strictly a 2 dimensional board layout - maybe 4X4 with 16 squares. Each square would have a reference back to the theme. Yes the home is one key piece. The idea is that we provide parents with training and coaching and mentoring so that they in turn can support their kids better. Apart from being a positive influence with their kids we want them to engage and interact better with the school system as such as well-so that's the other side of the coin so to speak. Hope this helps for now.

id like to work on this if its still open. should the kids depicted be aboriginal?

Hi, I'm thinking some but maybe not all, because most of these children are attending mixed schools, and part of what positive parental support should be concerned with is encouraging a multicultural perspective. A good education provides a solid foundation for a working career and invariably these days one has to work in increasingly mutlicultural environments.

Wow! This is a great endeavor you have going.

As much as I agree with the importance of what you're doing, I'm currently too busy and won't be able to participate, but your invitation is appreciated.

Just a thought for other designers wanting to jump on board - This seems to me like you want something like an infographic and it is much easier to design an info graphic when the content is known. Perhaps in your studies you've discovered a healthy diet and exercise contribute to a student's ability to perform better at school. If you were going to include that somehow in your contact a designer would want know to portray that somewhere.

Best regards!

Eva
