One idea to play around with (that was not in the original brief) is to use a stylized picture of the earth in the logo. Megatrends are about developments that entail a global impact and that imply a global responsiblity for all humankind. And we are not yet living up to it.
But it should be positive, hope, energy, so dont make it the earth on fire or the earth exploding :-)
