Logo Design Brief

Looking to develop a logo for a newly founded investment firm named "Grandevr Insight". Clients generally comprise friends/family of the founder, all located in Michigan (U.S.).

Attached is a mockup/brainstorm of the Logo. While it is understood that a rule of thumb for a logo is to not consist of more than 3-4 colors, ideally the logo would emphasize the color blue (possibly include maize/yellow in a nod to the founder's alma mater), and the V replaces a U; in the form of market activity (emphasizing appreciation gains). Possible use of icons (and font) would refer to the classical Roman period, and modern-day Wall Street.
