Book Cover Design Brief
Book Title: Essential 1/12th and F1 RC Racers Guide
Author: Dave B Stevens (www.davebstevens.com)
Front Cover size: 6” (152.4mm) wide x 9” (228.6mm) high
Cars: There will be 2 Radio Control (RC) cars on the cover [must be colour photos]:
• 1 x F1 car
• 1 x 1/12th scale car
You can use any real F1 car photo and any real LM1 car photo (for the 1/12th) or for the 1/12th you can google “12th scale pan car”. Once the design is nearly finalised we will provide photos of RC cars to be substituted in whatever orientation you have used. If specific colours are needed for the design then we can have car bodies painted and photographed for this purpose. For purposes of scale between the 2 cars, the F1 car is 420mm long and the 1/12th car is 320mm long.
Champions: There will be photos of 2 RC champions on the cover (Headshots, or head and shoulders). It is important that these are clearly visible as having them endorse the book is a major selling point. Details of these champions are to be confirmed, use placeholder images. One will have the title “1/12th Champion” and one will have the title “F1 Champion”. Additional text “With Pro Tips from IFMAR World Champions”.

Optional things that could be on the cover but that I’m not sure whether to include:
• RC Formula1 logo (www.rcformula1.com.au) – the #1 RC F1 website in the world, which I own
• An attention-grabbing hook or sub-heading such as “Ultimate Pan Car Performance” (or similar)
Rear cover: will definitely have RC Formula1 logo, the Aldritch publishing logo and a white box where the bar code will go which is 1.75” wide by 1” high. Rear cover text:
“Your complete guide to 12th scale and F1 pan cars with everything you need to know; from basic setup how-to’s, to advanced techniques used by world champions. Everything you need to drive faster is in this book.

Completed image should show rear cover, spine and front cover. Background image might wrap around front and back or each may have a different background. Image will be used on printed book and ebook. Formats required: high quality image file(s), PDF and Adobe Illustrator. Files must be CMYK print ready at 300dpi or higher. Colour density must not exceed 300% and should ideally be around 240% if practical.
