Logo Design Brief

Design a logo for my software studio. As a studio, we create products and spin off companies to build them.

We build expert tools to help people spend more of their time on the work that matters most. We want to make the next Photoshop or AutoCAD.

Because we are user- and community-orienated, we are more concerned with individuals identifying with us than companies, even though all of our products are built to help people with their work, not leisure. Our measure of success is users enthusiastically adopting our products.

Target Market(s)

Founders, founder-adjacent developers and designers, investors, and tool users.

Contact Information for Business Card

The front side should be contact information (with the human’s name being larger and more bold than contact info) and the logo, and the back should primarily be ‘CMPRSSR’ in large, dense, bold text. I think.

Requirements

Must have

• Some kind of reference to a physical compressor, like you’d use to drive a nail gun or paint gun. You can read more about why here: https://lukekanies.com/the-power-of-better-tools/

Nice to have

• Somehow combine a blue collar aesthetic with communist iconography

Should not have

• References that put off women or people of color.
• In the long term I want to be great at building tools for the service sector, which is mostly staffed with women and people of color, which rules out a lot of the obvious blue collar imagery.
