Requirement: Company logo

Company name: Cyligent

Meaning of name: Cyligent is a combination of "Cyber" and "Diligent" (or "Diligence)
• Although Cyber often reflects security, and that is a part of what Cyligent does, the usage here is more general, "of, relating to, or involving computers or computer networks (such as the Internet)"

Company purpose: Cyligent performs technical due diligence on software or software-enabled companies on behalf of investors (like a private equity firm) to ensure that the technology that they are considering investing in is a reasonable investment with growth potential. The investors are not technical people - they understand dollars and cents but not software development - so they rely on companies like Cyligent to determine the risk to their investment from the technology perspective. Items like software performance, scale, security, how the software is built, and many other factors are verified by Cyligent via a very detailed report that translates technical jargon to business terms/risk prior to the investment closing.

Requirements

Must have

• Logo desires:
• • Modern font
• • More formal look (e.g. not a cursive font) but can certainly have an element of fun
• • Modern colors
• • Some kind of hidden meaning or metaphor so that the logo is meaningful (please explain your design and why it fits the company mission)
• • Not too complex - simple with a great metaphor is best
• • Please do not include the term "consulting" or any other term besides "Cyligent" in the logo
• • If there is a symbol/graphic that goes with the same, please include that BEFORE the "Cyligent" name (I.e. to the left of the word).
• Deliverables:
• • Logo formats: A vector design is mandatory as is a PNG version of the logo in various resolutions (small, medium, large).
• • Color palette: We would like to use a color palette of 2-5 colors in all of our branding (coming from the logo), such as Microsoft Word technical report templates and PowerPoint decks. We may ask the author of the winning logo design to design some reasonable templates (even web site design) as follow-on work if the author has experience there. Feel free to proactively talk about your ideas.

Nice to have

• Modern colors: a professional darker green can be attractive, but open to alternatives
• An idea - one of the company's objectives is to translate technical terms to terms that a non-technical investor can understand. One metaphor may be to translate 1's and 0's (binary language of computers) to dollars ($) to show this process.

Should not have

• Fonts/graphics that are unprofessional (like cursive writing), although some element of fun in the overall design is okay.
