Illustration Design Brief
Children's Book Illustration/Design that includes a Book Jacket Spread and 5 Inner Spreads.
***NOTE: We do not need the entire project complete in a week! We will be selecting the artist to create the illustrations after a week based on submissions; it does not need to be all six spreads. We recommend presenting a cover design/illustration, as that is most important. And based on the style, which is most important, we are confident the other spreads will flow naturally. The artist will have several weeks to complete all the drawings, and we will maintain good communication and give helpful feedback.
Book Jacket (template provided): We need a cover spread illustration (the back cover can be simplified with color/texture used from the front cover and spine). The spine needs to say ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ -Inner page Illustrations: (Template and Text provided) Each spread has a story. The text is included for each spread. Each of the 5 spreads should depict an illustration that goes along with the text on that spread. Use creativity - remember, this is a children's book. The text blocks (in yellow) can be moved around to better accommodate the illustration. There just needs to be an open space about the size of the yellow outlined squares in the illustration so we can overlay copy later. The last page of the book can be left blank.

Requirements
Must have
- Vibrant Color, playful images, creative interpretation of story. We are located in the United States, and prefer a North American Santa Claus, meaning, not Father Christmas, or other depictions of Saint Nicholas.
Nice to have
- The attached stylistic 'inspiration' file shows some directions we really liked and wouldn't mind seeing stylistically. Paintings/Illustrations can depict Santa, Elves, Children, Reindeer, Christmas Trees, etc...
Should not have
- Please avoid using clipart or stock images. We have accounts with several stock photo companies, and could have done that ourselves. We want a custom painted/drawn feeling similar to the attachment.
