Logo Design Brief

We would like a logo for a new apparel brand that is based in the United States. We would like it to have an upscale, relaxed feel similar to brands such as Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide. Please do not use any imagery from these brands - this is simply a guide as to the type of feel we would like.

Target Market(s)

Target market ranges from teenagers to millennials to successful professionals. The brand should have a young and relevant feel. Relaxed, yet somewhat aspirational in the look and quality.

Requirements

Must have

• Company name.
• Artwork and symbol or imagery - see Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide as examples (Do not include imagery from these brands - only a suggestion for the feel).
• Nautical feel - example being an oar or sail (these are just a few examples, but it doesn't have to be limited to these).
• We would also like a less formal font and would like the nautical image to have a cottage/rustic feel. We really want the image to feel like it is “hand-drawn” to give it a unique feel.
• Our goal with the font is to have a relaxed, lifestyle-brand feel and not a formal corporate feel.
• Samples of brand fonts that we like:
• -Lole
• -Lululemon
• -Amazon
• -Life is Good
• -Adidas
• -Lacoste
• -Airbnb
• -Patagonia
• These are just examples, but thought this might be helpful as a reference.
• For image colors - we would like to see pastels for the nautical object. The font can be a different color - we would like the image/object stand out.

Should not have

• Avoid overly dark colors (other than potentially the font for the name).
• Please avoid whale, turtle, fish.
