Logo Design Brief
Due to an injury at birth, Camryn spent her entire life restricted to a wheelchair and required 24-hour around the clock care. Throughout her life, Camryn spent countless days, nights and holidays down at Seattle Children’s Hospital as even the simplest of common colds presented a difficult battle for her to face. After years of battling, Camryn passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 6th, 2018 at age 11. While she never spoke, the joy and love for her parents and two-younger sisters beamed from her eyes and from a big, infectious smile. Her life and her family’s journey over the years has impacted many throughout our Sedro-Woolley Community. The Helgeson Family is one of the most loving and gracious families you will ever meet. For the past 11+ years and now continuing on, they have met each day with an abundance of love, sacrifice, courage and grace that is beyond admirable. Since the passing of Camryn, they have thought about different ways to honor their beautiful daughter. And with two younger daughters, Blakely and Miah, they often visit the local parks around Sedro-Woolley. Therefore the vision of a park in Sedro-Woolley that they all would’ve loved and could enjoy has now become their dream to both remember Camryn and bless other families who may have a child with a disability. Our project will provide an opportunity for local Special Needs families to experience one of the most common and enjoyable childhood experiences that otherwise may not be possible – swinging on a swing.Earlier this Spring, our local Sedro-Woolley Rotary Club, awarded us $18,000 to get started on this project. We are just in the beginning, ground stages and will have more fundraising efforts ahead but we are so excited to strengthen Cam's legacy and provide an incredible spot for other special needs family to enjoy!
