Web Design Brief

update: very good designs submitted so far. also need this to display well on mobile devices. not sure if wordpress or html/css is better for my needs.

Our existing website is cproahu.com and is need of total revamp. Need full design of a website for my business.

We sell and rebuild starters and alternators. Customers bring in the units and we rebuild them. Or we sell them brand new or rebuilt units we have in stock. We do not install units into vehicles like a mechanic would. We strictly rebuild starters and alternators in our shop, sell brand new units over the counter, and we do deliver occasionally as well. We do offer a line of Deka batteries as well but that is only a small feature of the business.

I would like this website designed and coded. I can upload the files to my web host after completion. I can also add in and modify content like our background info, etc.

I have included an illustrator file that shows some of our signage and logo, etc. I have also included a radio commercial sample so you can get a little better feel for the business. A similar ad does run on the radio currently, slightly different and without the added sound effects.

Update: I do like using photos of real items(starters or alternators etc) for an icon, like a real alternator stock image for the alternator section icon, etc. Maybe incorporate our logo in that design as well. That looks nice as well and may aid in navigation.

For any other design elements, do what you think looks good. Our colors are red/white/blue as seen in the illustrator file. our building is painted with sherwin williams colors, heartthrob red and blue blood for blue.

The website can have areas for: services and products offered, high output alternators, Deka Batteries, troubleshooting tips, current specials, contact info and directions/map, etc. Whatever else you feel applies.

At some point I do want to be able to sell items directly online or at least have a secure section for customers to submit invoice payments, but that's not necessarily in scope for this project just something to keep in mind.

Mechanics and Managers in fleet shops, construction and marine industries, shipping trades. Also automobile owners who work on their own vehicles. We sell and rebuild starters and alternators for automobiles, heavy duty equipment, forklifts, gradalls, man movers, bobcats, loaders, large tractors and trucks, just about any engine, golf carts, generators, etc.
