Tattoo Design Brief
Hi, I'm looking for a design for a tattoo to be put either on the upper left arm-shoulder and upper-left pectoral muscle or on the upper right arm-shoulder and upper-right part of the back.
I put a couple of example images for the positioning. The inspiration behind the tattoo is Fernando Pessoa's sentence:"Senta-te ao sol. Abdica E sê rei de ti próprio."Trying an english translation it reads something like this:"Sit in the sun. Abdicateand be king of yourself. The original sentence in portuguese should be included in the tattoo and be part of the tattoo design.
The image that I first saw in my mind when reading this sentence is a man sitting on a beach, back turned to the viewer, staring at the sun setting on the horizon. He was once king. This is the first thing popping up when I first read the sentence but I'm also open and willing to see other images and interpretations of these words and concept.
This quote gives me a sense of freedom, peace, resolution and inner calm and this is what I would like the tattoo to convey. Also included in the tattoo there should be a symbol composed of three different symbols joined together: The ouroboros snake, the pentacle and the symbol of the infinite.
The composed symbol has the pentacle inscribed in the ouroboros serpent. At the center of the pentacle there's the symbol of the infinite. The meaning is that man (the pentacle) is subject to the circle of nature, life and death (the ouroboros around the pentacle), but contains in himself the ability to dream, which is infinite (the infinite symbol). I thought this symbol might appear in the image as a tattoo on the back of the man but, as far as it's integrated well and nicely in the final image, you're free to change position and dimensions.
I have attached an example of the ouroboros style I had in mind but, again, you can change it to anything that you think suits well the final design.
Feel free to add elements you think fit well or complete the drawing or anything else that gives the tattoo your personal touch. As for the tattoo style, I'm leaning toward the realistic side but I also like other styles, like trash polka or sketched for example, so let this be influenced by your personal preferences.
Looking forward to see your work! Thanks!
