Logo Design Brief

We would like a logo design for our small, family-based, retail nursery business, Frog Hollow Nursery. (www.froghollownursery.com.au)
We grow and sell Tasmanian and Australian native plants and plants for temperate Food Gardens.
Our business reflects our strong personal commitment and focus on sustainable living. The plants we sell enable our customers to use local native plants for habitat restoration and attracting wildlife, while also being able to reduce their own environmental footprint and adopt a healthier lifestyle by growing their own food. In addition, we follow organic principles in the production of our plants, and our power supply is sourced entirely from solar panels.
We would like our logo design to reflect our core values of a simple, sustainable lifestyle and contain our business name and a flower or plant graphic.
The words to covey a feel/theme for the design might include: earthy, organic, natural, sustainable, handmade, rustic.......and so on. Would prefer natural colours over bright, slick, modern designs. 'Lino-cut' style graphics are a particular favourite.

Requirements

Must have

• Our business name plus flower or plant graphic.
  Any plant graphic should related to something we grow in our nursery (ie must be a Tasmanian or Australian native plant or a variety of food plant that we grow)
  Plant graphic must be detailed enough to accurately represent the plant it portrays (no overly stylised designs please!). Must have a relaxed overall feel to the design (eg. see logo for www.understorey-network.org.au)-like the way the line-drawn logo frames the text, without any borders.
  Natural, subtle colours please.

Nice to have

• Nice to incorporate an Australian native flower (eg Banksia marginata would be an ideal species)in the design, but am open to other options.
  Could contain the phrase 'plants for native and edible gardens'
  or 'native plants~ heirloom food plants', somewhere in the design?

Should not have

• slick, modern, brightly coloured design not suited to our business
  Don't like stylised plant designs.
