CD Cover Design Brief

I need a design which somehow manages to capture the essence of a world falling into ruin and despair, and which is suitable for a band with a sonic style somewhere between Megadeth and Opeth. If words like "withering" and "malevolent" feature prominently into an observers reaction, you're probably on the right track.

I have included pictures of my band's original title, which roughly means Who Is God in Latin, and pictures of the band members. Please do not include the band members in the image!
