Logo Design Brief

We need an update from our previous logo linked below. We are a Christian church. We do not want a whole redesign, something that looks like an updated version of the old logo, where you recognize it is the same design idea for sure, but newer and fresher. It's too complicated now, the leaves everywhere and falling are a bit much, some leaves are fine, something simple and modern would be really cool. The tree is too fat too. Idk if the cross and tree should be more together as one thing or separate. As long as there is a cross/tree present. And idk if the red should stay probably not. I can link the colors we use for our website and all other things so the colors can be more similar. They don't have to be exactly the same, we can alter the website colors to be more like whatever the new logo is but just for a loose basis color-wise. But the main thing that would make it better is minimalism. I like the seven branches on the tree but if it has to go for the sake of it looking simpler that would be fine. Just an update to the one below.
