Logo Design Brief

A client with an industrial company that specialises in clamps and banding for pipes and cables is looking for a new, modern logo. They have had the same logo for the last 20+ years and as they are growing they want a logo to be more versatile and modern.

***READ THIS BIT CAREFULLY***
Ideally the logo will not just be the three letters, but also should have something unique about it which links it to the type of product it offers (hose clamps). Connecting, tightening, securing. Almost all clamps are CIRCULAR by nature and they are tightened using different types of pressure (hand, twisting, pulling, screw etc.)... but think CIRCLE and tightening.

Target Market(s)

Buyers in SME and larger companies looking for these specialist industrial parts. Mainly male, mainly 30-60 years old. Engineer types.

Requirements

Must have

• It must offer a modernised brand which works for both digital and print (and also work in grayscale for scans/faxing)
  It needs to be simple enough to be easy to imprint or engrave
  It has to work for the target market first, being visually appealing and neatly designed
  If there is an icon, it should be unique and memorable, working on its own as
  well as with the name - to echo the product (clamps/bands - circular)
  The logo should not be either too portrait or landscape, and ideally should
  have options which work for each format

Nice to have

• They are not fully attached to the colours, but do like the blue from the current websites (please review: https://hcl-clamping.co.uk/ and https://www.hclfasteners.com/)
  It should appeal to medium and large businesses as well as smaller ones

Should not have

• Not be too complex. Too landscape.
