Logo Design Brief

I am looking for the first logo for my firearms training company. I will need a logo that can scale from a challenge coin or the front chest of a polo shirt to a larger display on the back of a t-shirt. Due to the scaling I'm looking for something that's not too complex/intricate. I personally like darker colors but the logo will be going on dark clothing so I'm good with subdued but still want the logo visible. One thought I had was a headstamp type logo but I'm not a designer so I'm looking forward to what someone with artistic talent can come up with.
