Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for an undergraduate research lab at William and Mary called ‘Ignite’. Ignite brings together faculty, students, and community partners from around the world to examine health investments in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to determine where public health interventions are working and develop better tools and data that will significantly impact improving investments in global health. This work is essential, as policymakers in LMICs strive to ensure widespread access to and enhance the quality of health interventions. We draw on literature and methods from a variety of disciplines including public health, economics, geography, and political science to produce high-quality social science research that leverages geographic data to help bridge the gap between evidence (what is known) and policy implementation (what gets done). All of our work has a strong data science and spatial component so I would like the spatial aspect somehow be reflected in the logo. I am open to different colors, but typically like cooler colors like blue and grey. This logo needs to be able to work in both web and print formats.

Requirements

Must have

• Some sort of look/feel that conveys we work with spatial (ie.geographically referenced) data. The design also must have a graphic asset to accompany the name 'Ignite' and use the university branded colors https://brand.wm.edu/index.php/university-colors/ .

Nice to have

• The logo doesn’t have to match the one I attached from the Global Research Institute but the lab is part of that. I attached it in case you could weave in some connection through feel or color. Not necessary, but nice.
