Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for an astronomical instrument called "MAVIS", developed for the Very Large telescope (European Southern Observatory) by a Consortium of Australian and European institutes.

Various points to help/guide the design:
- The logo has to explicitly include the name "MAVIS"
- MAVIS is the 'MCAO-Assisted Visible Imager and Spectrograph' that is, it works at visible wavelengths like the human eye.
- MAVIS is built by a consortium of European and Australian institutions for research.
- We included 4 logo ideas from the team
- Various keywords that can help:
* Lasers (there is 8 of them) - the RGB color of the lasers is similar to #F0D000
* Natural Guide Stars (3 of them)
* Stars (and galaxies)
* Spectrograph (hence the coloured beam in some logos ideas)
* Adaptive Optics (a technique to unblur astronomical images)
- We would like a modern-looking design, preferably simple
- There is a pre-existing logo that we have been using for a year already (the one with the simple text with the stars through)
- Do not feel constrained by the current or proposed logo of course.
