Character Design Brief

We have various product line such as shoes, clothes, bags, etc for children age from 4 years old to 8 years old. I'm looking for a character representative for a series of new products. The character illustration can be in any form, e.g. animal, car, person or robot. Please be creative! It has to be a unique, approachable cartoon character with background stories. Preferably also provide a simple elegant logo/icon that related the character. I have attached one example that I like.
