CD Cover Design Brief

We're an Appalachian old time string band located in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Our instruments are banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and bass. We take music seriously but we are also five good friends playing to have fun. After all, a lot of what we are playing is dance music. Or songs about moonshine. A murder ballad but you can dance to it.
Our CD title is "Let Us Have Some Fun." It reflects both our longing to get out from under the shadow of 2020 (we recorded the CD early in the year) and our general philosophy of having a good time playing. For the CD cover art, we envision a chicken-- it represents an inside joke, as well as the rural roots of some of the music we play. We're thinking a simple, cleanly drawn chicken, with a little sass. A jaunty chicken. A party chicken, if you will. But a cool one. Not too silly A cool jaunty party chicken. Or perhaps representing the band with 3 roosters playing mandolin, banjo and upright bass and 2 chickens playing fiddle and guitar. See photo of band.
