Logo Design Brief
We are looking for a logo we can apply to a website, email signatures, and business cards. We want the green to refer to sustainability, not money. We will be doing a number of socially responsible developments from small affordable housing to mixed-use walkable neighborhoods. Logo should not hit you over the head with "green" i.e. a super obvious leaf, but some subtlety and a nod to green-ness, sustainability, and/or ecology could certainly work. We want to be represented as modern, forward-thinking, and having high integrity, but we don't want to look like a financial firm. If using letters in the logo, we prefer GV, not GWV, but letters are not necessary. The color (or concept of) green should probably be integrated somehow, but not necessarily a deal breaker if it doesn't. Our tagline is "Socially Responsible Developments/Developers". Looking for bold, simple, and clever.

Requirements
Nice to have
- Can be playful or serious, not set one way or another, just depends on the overall success of the concept.
The ability to turn the logo into an email signature, letterhead and/or website logo would be nice.
If there's a larger logo with a graphic+text, the ability to remove the text and have the logo stand on its own would be nice.
The ability to be able to place the logo on different color backgrounds would be great. I am by no means a graphic designer, but I can change colors around in illustrator if need be (I am somewhat fluent in the adobe creative suite).
ability to incorporate our tagline "socially responsible development/developers" would be nice, but not required. Ultimately, I don't think it belongs in the logo, but we'll use it on our business cards, website, email sigs, etc. so something to consider.
If using a font that is not standard on most computers, a font that can "play nicely" with other sans serif fonts would be great, i.e. arial, century gothic, helvetica, etc. Or if including access to the font is possible that would be great, or a free font from dafont or similar source.
Should not have
- overtly obvious "green" reference- Not saying "no leaves", but use tact and poise if doing so.
green referring to money, (this is our biggest fear)
hard to read text
the attached ai file was my first stab at creating a business card (without a logo) for one project we are working on. I have no pride of authorship over any aspect of it, I just wanted to include it as a jumping off point. I don't hate the business card, but I'm not in love with it either.
