Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for a new company in Raleigh North Carolina called Step Ahead Mobility. We provide equipment and repairs to the disabled (wheelchairs, scooters, beds, etc.).
Context:
- Mobility company has new name (Step Ahead Mobility), needs to create branding
- Previous name was Mobility City
- Involves selling and repairing equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.
- Customer base is seniors (70+) also their adult children (40-65) or anyone with an injury or disability
Design to apply to all communications:
- Interior and exterior signage
- Online marketing
- Forms, etc.
- Truck
Branding to consist of:
- Logo unit including icon block and company name
- Color and design scheme
Deliverables:
- Hi-res artwork – including variations of logo, icon, both- in various formats
- Guidelines on font style
- Possibly expand to include layout of truck
Objectives of design:
- Positive, warm, welcoming, optimistic – we care about people; we are optimistic
- Stay away from a medical/hospital feel
- Differentiate from competition
- Convey our brand in a clear way
- Have breakthrough power (if seen on truck, etc.)
Existing branding is heavy on words, light on imagery
Creative guidelines:
- Cannot use both reflex blue and bright red (e.g. PMS 185)
- Need readable font (sans serif) in generally large size (customers’ eyesight is not great)
- Directionally blue-green/ teal as primary color, yellow/maize as accent
- Avoid scientific/medical image
- Uplifting – we want to show people who are controlling their futures, not victims
- Logo unit could have a stylized symbol representing someone active/moving forward
- Logo simple enough to put on a t-shirt or elsewhere
