Logo Design Brief

I need a knew logo design for a for a 1924 general store that we are opening. I already have a nice logo but wondering if it is a little "hokey" for lack of a better term. I really like it but wondering what a little more hipper logo would look like with keeping it authentic looking. The store is going to be themed with decor from its lifetime of 1924-1975. Not sure what I'm looking for but hoping to get some good creative ideas.
