Logo Design Brief

We are trying to fine-tune and finalize our logo design. I have an example of an old drawing that we used back in the day. I have an example of one we choose recently that seemed to be the closest to what we wanted.

We are very particular about the elements of our logo. Here are the statements to help guide:
1) Jesus came as a regular citizen, not as a king or rich man. - thus rustic is very important in the design
2) He died on a wooden cross. Bloodstains express His death
3) A crown of thorns expresses His kingship over the kingdom of God that is within us
4) Jesus not on the cross relates to His burial and resurrection which is an important part of mankind's salvation
5) The vine is Jesus and the vines' branches are His followers
6) The grape cluster expresses the fruit in the followers and the unity of the body of Christ and the blessing God said is in it.

We want one logo with just "Vine Cluster Church".
We want a similar logo with "Vine Cluster Church" and the tagline "Believe, Grow and Know Christ".
