Given the genre, photographs are not appropriate. The cover should be illustrated though I am open to proposals as to how "realistic" the cover should be. The examples I included in the brief should show a range. thanks.

Thank you for contacting. The prize is for a single cover but Design Crowd will help negotiate a fee with the winning designer for three covers. So, in the end, the cover needs to be one that can extend to a cohesive series. I'm not willing to do guaranteed at this time. I will extend the deadline if needed to obtain a good collection of designs.

I'm surprised nobody has asked you these simple questions but these are relevant to your project.
i.e.
1: The printed cover size - do you want them the same as your previous versions or different, and what are the dimensions required?
2: The approximate number of pages - this is for the spine width on the print copy.
3: Apart from 'Beyond the Doors' you have omitted the sub-title in your brief (also see next question).
4: Is this cover brief a re-imagining of one of the first two books. i.e. Book One, or Book Two - Rescue - or is it a new version i.e. Book Three - (Subtitle)?
5: Any back page Blurb available - or would this be sent later?
6: Do you want an Author Bio (or Photo) on the back cover? if so please upload.

Thoughtful questions. Thanks. The book is approximately 8'x5". 272 pages for book 1. The other two will be similar. There is no subtitle for book one beyond "Book 1". The brief submitted is a re-envisioning of Book 1, but should I find a winning designer, Book 2 re-envisioning and a new cover for Book 3 will be included in an expanded re-negotiated brief. As such, the design will have to be able to be connected thematically with two other books. There is a back blurb (no photo or bio) but I think it's OK to focus on the front for now so that you don't spend too much time before we know if it works. The blurb is below if you are keen to try the back. Thanks again.
