Icon Design Brief

American Witness is the parent for local websites that track violence crime as they move through the entire criminal justice system (cops/prosecutors/courts/prison.) We have two local sites and are looking to add more in different cities. We need a logo that captures our national focus on the local level. The logo can't have anything controversial like a gun or bodies or focus on one part of criminal justice (like a police car). We are nonpartisan - we just gather data and tell what is happening. Can be red/white/blue (ie us national colors) but not requested. But must have words American Witness included. We would like a more conservative font (less curves or video game look) Obvious US flag motifs are to be avoided (although can be included.) Use of US map is acceptable.
