Logo Design Brief

Create a logo for a learning platform called ENRICH (Empowering Next-generation Researchers In perinatal and Child Health). ENRICH is a newly funded inter-jurisdictional, interdisciplinary, intersectoral, and bilingual team of 193 experienced applicants, bringing together 55 organizations, networks, and institutions. Our main goal is to train child health researchers across Canada that will improve the health and development of mothers, infants, children, youth, and families in Canada and throughout the world. ENRICH represents research expertise across all types of research and will provide the highest quality mentorship grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles. Our platform will provide training, personalized mentorship, and experiential opportunities for Canadian research trainees and early career researchers within 5 years of faculty appointment (ECRs). By embracing an intersectoral approach with public, private (for profit), and non-profit partners, ENRICH will ensure research learners are prepared for careers within and beyond academia.
The ENRICH environment is based on 3 components. The first is the electronic online learning management system called RISE (Raising Interdisciplinary Scientist Excellence) that will be open and accessible to all. The second is the Enrichment Program that will have limited access via a selection process into different pathways of entry. Here learners will be trained in advanced competencies, receive personalized mentorship, and participate in experiential learning opportunities. The third is the Illumination Program that will be an interactive space including an annual symposium, networking opportunities with cross-sectoral employers, engagement with patient and community partners involved in research, and activities to promote ideation processes to create and implement knowledge to respond rapidly to emerging problems. These components will work synergistically to foster tailored learning opportunities appropriate for an individual’s stage of training, area of science, discipline, career goals, and sociocultural contexts.
We would like the logo to include symbols, drawings objects that:
1. Do not include stock images
2. Use 3 colours to represent our 3 components. The colors must be suitable for colour blind people to see.
3. Showcase that we are Canadian
4. Include children
5. Show that we provide training and mentorship
6. Excellence
7. Equity, diversity inclusion
8. belonging, dignity, and justice (BDJ)
9. Be empowering - we are giving researchers the opportunity to take control of their future and make the connections they need to learn and grow as a researcher.
10. Be welcoming, something that you want to share with people.
11. Incorporate the ENRICH acronym, spelled out name, and some kind of infographic that represents the description of ENRICH given above.
