Logo Design Brief

Our company name is Automation Designs, Inc. I am wanting to make a new logo design that we can use for the security alarm side of the business. Signs and stickers will be shaped like a stop sign or like the ADT signs. Our main color is red where ADT's is blue. Wanting ideas on how I can kind of match their's but not infringe on their copyright.
